As Chief Technology Officer of Silicon Valley-based Gigaforce, Neeraj envisioned and led a Insurtech startup providing a SaaS-based, blockchain-optimized, claims platform. He recruited and mentored a highly skilled team to build a robust platform to expedite subrogation, recovery, and salvage processing. The product combines artificial intelligence (AI)-driven predictive models, specialized expertise, and customized services for the insurance ecosystem including insurers, law firms, and third-party adjusters. Reflecting his interest in new business models, Neeraj built a self-custodial crypto wallet system and a crypto exchange at RockWallet. As its Chief Technology Officer, he drove innovation, guided product development and led the engineering team from scratch to achieve exponential growth. Neeraj also served as Chief Technology Officer of LockDocs, which streamlines client documentation processing for investment advisors in the wealth management segment. His remit covered design and implementation of an automated workflow, compliance features, custom analytics, and collaboration capabilities.

Capitalizing on his entrepreneurial spirt, technical savvy, and strong business acumen, Neeraj founded DLT Labs, a global leader in developing blockchain solutions using distributed ledger technology. He served as Chief Technology Officer and enabled the firm to accelerate its development of enterprise blockchain technology at scale. Of note, Neeraj and his colleagues resolved complex supply chain challenges facing Walmart Canada. DLT Labs developed a system to continuously gather information at every step in the shipping process, capture the data, and synchronize it in real-time with secure access. The product increased Walmart Canada’s operational efficiency by dramatically reducing manual reconciliation of third-party carrier invoices from 70% to under 2%. This success demonstrated Neeraj’s firm belief that blockchain is capable of helping businesses generate significant operational and financial gains. Harvard Business Review published a case study on the work in 2022.

At Royal Bank of Canada (NYSE: RY), Neeraj served as Project Manager and Blockchain Architect for payment solutions. He worked closely with VISA, MasterCard, and Interac, the Canadian interbank network, on several complex integration projects. His stature as an expert in financial cryptography enabled his team to drive early-to-market launch of Apple Pay. As a team leader, Neeraj managed risk mitigation, key vendors, and communications strategy for the projects. Earlier in his career, Neeraj held project leadership roles at Scotiabank (TSX: BNS), where he was involved in application design and development, product quality, and user experience matters.

An evangelist for development and application of new technology, Neeraj launched the first developer level course on Blockchain. He continues to champion learning and skill development as he instructs students through Udemy (NASDAQ: UDMY). A thought leader, frequent speaker and author, Neeraj has served on IBM’s Blockchain Advisory Board and the Forbes Technology Council. He holds four patents for innovative block chain systems and methods; Ethereum smart contracts, and a relational data management process using distributed ledger technology.

 

Neeraj graduated from AKG Engineering College with a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics, and Communication Engineering. Committed to professional development, he studied project management at the University of Toronto and achieved Project Management Professional (PMP) accreditation. Neeraj is also a Certified Bitcoin Professional, Certified Ethereum Developer, and Information Technology Infrastructure Library certified.
